It is the focus on international business and the most current trends that is the driving force behind the content of the programme. At the same time, European Business Studies provides an insight into Entrepreneurship in Latvia, allowing a student to see its context and potential on an international scale. One of the most important benefits of the programme is the language learning – studying in English prepares graduates for excellent business communication internationally, while the French and Spanish languages learned in this programme are invaluable skills which open up even broader horizons in European business. In this programme, students learn the essential skills of a business manager: defining and formulating the institution’s/company’s strategy, objectives and the resources needed to achieve them, financial planning, making deals with clients and business partners, etc. 

The programme prepares international business managers and potential industry leaders who can work in a multicultural, international environment. A direct focus on international business and its most current trends drives the content of the programme, attracting a large number of international students and bringing together lecturers from all over the world. The programme, delivered in Latvia, guarantees an understanding of local and European entrepreneurship in a professional context and its potential internationally. In this programme, students learn the essential skills of a business manager: defining and formulating the institution’s/company’s strategy, objectives and the resources needed to achieve them, financial planning, making deals and negotiating with clients and business partners, etc.

The in-person studies are conducted in English and are characterised by a practical approach to study courses, which is also confirmed by the internationally recognised EFMD accreditation. Alongside the theoretical courses, there are business simulation games and professional internships, including a compulsory international internship in France. To help students more successfully search for and find an internship, RISEBA University operates a Student Career Centre. Students have the opportunity to participate in international conferences and seminars organised by RISEBA, as well as guest lectures conducted by various foreign business leaders. The authors of new business ideas have the opportunity to implement their ideas in the RISEBA Creative Business Incubator, receiving support from mentors, coaches, specialists, cooperation partners and experienced start-up and business leaders.

The international scope of the topics covered in the programme and the languages of study prepare graduates for work in leading positions in international companies, organisations, banks, consulting and auditing companies in the field of finance, marketing management, sales, project and human resources management and other fields. The knowledge gained from the studies also allows a student to set up his/her own companies in Latvia and abroad, with the aim of developing its activities in Europe and worldwide.

Double degree study mobility

Students are selected on the basis of their academic results and their English language skills.

Any student of the bachelor’s programme who has completed at least one year of study can participate in the Erasmus+ exchange programme.
A student can study for 1 or 2 semesters at one of RISEBA’s partner universities. The duration of study mobility is 2–12 months.
The student does not have to pay for the period spent in the study and internship exchange programme abroad; the tuition fee is covered by the partner university, but the student continues to pay the RISEBA tuition fee. For the period spent abroad during mobility, the student is awarded an Erasmus+ scholarship to cover the costs of transport and accommodation.
* Erasmus+ internship mobility provides that a student can undergo an internship in one of the companies of interest in one of the Erasmus+ programme countries. For this internship period, the student receives an Erasmus+ scholarship. The duration of internship mobility is 2–12 months.
