The Third Spring Festival Novruz in Riga
On 24 March 2018, Riga will host the Third International Baltic festival of peoples' friendship Novruz at RISEBA Architecture and Media Centre H20 6 (Durbes iela 4, Riga).
The incoming of spring has always been one of the heart-warming events in people's life. After all, this is the holiday of nature's revival, celebration of life and hopes for a generous crop year. Translated from Farsi, Novruz means 'new day'. The Earth enters the period of universal astronomical equality, whereas in the hemispheres the seasons of the year change: in the southern hemisphere it is the beginning of autumn and in the northern hemisphere - it is the beginning of spring.
This is the holiday for everyone who is keen on the Oriental culture. This bright, emotional, and exciting holiday will leave no one indifferent.
This year, the representatives of different nationalities from Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Russia (Tatarstan, Bashkortostan, Yakutia, Kabardino-Balkaria), Turkey, Georgia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, India, Latvia, Estonia and other countries will take part in the festival.
During the festival, there will be a folk and contemporary songs concert in which dancing groups and individual performers will appear on stage.
Also, within the framework of the Event, master-classes will be given, the Oriental culture, its traditions and crafts will be introduced, national costumes will be demonstrated, competitions will be held and a lot more.
