The master’s programme implemented by RISEBA is the only sports management programme in the Baltic states. This modern master’s programme prepares competitive managers for the sports industry. Graduates will receive comprehensive knowledge from industry professionals about processes important in sports management, such as risk, marketing, financial and human resource management in sports, strategic management and leadership, as well as safety in sports facilities, sports in the digital world and many other important professional issues related to sports management.  The study programme includes many practical exercises, case studies and real-life examples.

The programme has been developed in consultation and cooperation with representatives of employers – the Latvian Olympic Committee, various sports associations and federations, as well as with related study programmes at foreign universities. Upon successful completion of the programme requirements and defence of the master’s thesis, graduates are awarded a professional master’s degree in sports management and the qualification “Organisation Manager”.

These are full-time studies. The lectures are delivered by academic staff members with experience in both teaching (including at foreign universities) and international research, as well as guest lecturers and academics whose main work is related to strategy development, decision-making and decision implementation in sports federations and institutions. Within the framework of studies, the student develops his/her own scientific research work, as well as participates in research projects developed by the Latvian Science Council, RISEBA and the Faculty of Business and Economics. The programme also includes a professional internship, which allows a student to apply what he/she has learned during its studies in real life and which can be an important step in the future career in the health sector.
