Jānis Holšteins held various positions in a government enterprise SIA Latvijas Televīzijā between 1978 and 2007.

He started as a lighting technicial, worked as an assistant director, principal director, head of production and as a director general. He deepened his knowledge and developed skills in Baltic Media Centre and Netherlands Media Art Institute.

He used to be one of the directors and founders of the first Latvian independent theatre “Kabata” from 1987 until 1996.
He was a co-chairperson of Latvian Association of Broadcasting Organizations between 2004 and 2007.

After his work in Latvijas Televīzija he went into the sphere of education and formed a professional undergraduate study programme Audiovisual Media Arts in 2009.

besides his work in the high school he also works as a media expert.
He is currently doing doctoral studies of Business management in RISEBA.
Began actively participating in international academic conferences in 2011. He’s an author of many research articles.
His academic interests are development potential of Latvian audiovisual sector and development of the concept of modern social media model.

Arvids Babris started working as a cameraman at Latvian Television right after the graduation of secondary school.
After the graduation of Leningrad State University for Theatre, Music and Cinema he started working as a director. In the same time he worked as a show author and host, author of radio pieces and discotheque host.
Later he started working as a programme director at Radio Skonto, TV3 Latvija and Latvian Television.
He has successfully produced several TV show projects, such as “Get It Right” (“Uzmini nu”), Eurovision song contests, film “Six Stars in the Sword” (”Sešas zvaigznes zobenā”), NATO summit, “Singing Families” (“Dziedošās ģimenes”), “Latvian Pride” (“Latvijas Lepnumi”), as well as produced commercial and music videos.
He’s been a member of music records Year Award’s and Eurovision Song Contest experts committee for many years, a former member of Big Kristaps jury, nominee and laureate of year’s best TV show.

Ivars Berzins is a professor at various high schools in Latvia, Russia, Germany and Poland. He is very active in the field of culture management: a former Latvian National Opera intendant, Goethe-Institut project manager, and head of Latvia-Germany Culture, Education and Information Fund, cultural economics expert at the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Latvia.

His research interests include cultural management and marketing, creative economics issues. He’s an author of several books, various research articles, member of international conferences and member of editorial board of an international cultural management magazine (Cracow University, Poland).

Zigurds Bilzonis is a president of Latvian Photography Association (LFB);

Zigurds Bilzonis earned a master degree in pedagogy, worked as an associate professor at UL, deepened his knowledge at UL Faculty of Education, Psychology and Arts. He got the Excellence title of the International Federation of the Photographic Art (EFIAP). He’s the author of the research paper “Fine-Arts Photography in the Art Education of Young Teachers”.

He participated in more than 365 international photography exhibitions and won a Grand Prix “Golden Pyramid” at the 39th International Photography Salon in Buenos Aires (Argentina); golden medal of FIAP; first prize at international photography exhibition "Europa-83"; Nicephore Niepce medal at the International Photography Salon in Denain (France).

Participant of University of Cyprus’ international conference ”The Social and Educational Perspective”  in 2011; organiser of a photography exhibition and participant of international conference in Hertogenbosch (Netherlands, 2009) within the framework of International Comenius project “Multiple Choice Identity”.

Kristine Rudevica is an image designer, personal shopper and fashion consultant, stylist and make-up designer for TV, photographic studios and fashion houses, author of photo shoots. Did photo stylings for “Lilita” and ”Santa” magazines in cooperation with a stylist Zanna Dubska and photographer Valts Kleins. Worked on arrangement of a world-known fashion historian Alexandre Vassiliev’s costume collection exhibition in Riga.
She’s interested in clothes design and is currently working on launching her own fashion line.

Laima Freimane started working in the film industry in 1992. She worked for the International Film Festival “Arsenāls” for 6 years, began working in the field of filmmaking in 1998. She established her own film studio “Screen Vision” in 2001, and it is still successfully operating.

From 1998 to 2009 she participated in more than 20 professional courses and workshops in the fields of media, filmmaking and television.
She graduated from Vidzeme High School in 2008 and earned a master degree in Tourism Management. She earned a prestigious ETMA Media Management diploma in 2012 and got admitted as a postgraduate student in the same university.
She published popular articles about the movie industry (festivals, film programmes, filmmaking in foreign countries) in the 90s.

Vineta Kantane earned her master degree in the University of Latvia, later started her doctorate studies in political theory in UL. Anita Lasmane earned a doctorate in psychology, started working as an associate professor at Riga Teacher Training and Educational Management Academy in 2004. She gained experience in psychology of creative processes and its application in groups and organisations counselling at Alla Spivakova’s psychotherapy workshops and at Riga Teacher Training and Educational Management Academy Creative Research Centre. She participated in several ESF projects dedicated to career and competitiveness development and in the projects of the European Fund for the Integration of third-country nationals.
Her research interests include application of psychology of creative processes in innovation processes and in support of individual’s and organisation’s competitiveness; integration of creative processes and business psychology.

Sandra Veinberga earned a doctor degree in philology for her research about the political influence of German television programme magazines. Used to be an associate professor and a head of Journalism Department of University of Latvia, deepened her knowledge in the Centre for Doctoral Studies of Moscow State University and in postdoctoral internship at Stockholm University Department of Media Studies. Later she turned to practical work as journalist in Sweden and as LTV and various other Latvian media’ newsperson in Scandinavia. She delivered PR trainings for executive managers of private sector, Latvian and Swedish state and municipal institutions. Later on she returned to work as a guest lecturer in Liepaja University and as a lecturer in RISEBA. An associate professor at RISEBA since 2011.

Her research interests include theoretical and practical issues of media and public relations (PR).

Dr. Ellen Pearlman is a new media artist, critic, curator and educator whose research focuses on artificial intelligence, biometrics, surveillance, interactivity and immersive environments. A Fulbright World Learning Specialist in Art, Media and Technology, she is also a Vertigo STARTS Laureate, a Zero1 American Arts Incubator/U.S. State Department Artist, and a contributing editor to Performance Arts Journal (PAJ) MIT Press. She received her PhD from the School of Creative Media, Hong Kong City University where her thesis, “Noor: A Brain Opera” was awarded highest ranking internationally by Leonardo LABS Abstracts . In addition to her research and teaching at RISEBA, she is Director of ThoughtWorks Arts, an industry program incubating artist and technology collaborations, President of Art-A-Hack (TM) that uses creative practices and technology to “make something new”, and Director of the Volumetric Society of New York. Ellen created “Noor: A Brain Opera”, the world’s first interactive, immersive brainwave opera in a 360-degree theater and “AIBO”, an emotionally intelligent, artificial intelligent brainwave opera.
