RISEBA conducts research in the following fields, which correspond to its departments and their specialisations:

• Faculty of Business and Economics, sector – social sciences, subsector – economics and business
• Faculty of Media and Creative Technologies, sector – social sciences, subsector – mass media and communication; sector – humanities and arts, subsector – music, visual arts and architecture
• Faculty of Architecture and Design, sector – engineering and technology, subsector – construction and transport engineering

 

RISEBA research includes: active work in research projects; participation in international research and academic conferences, art and architecture symposia, exhibitions, competitions and audiovisual festivals and shows in Latvia and abroad; preparation and publication of research papers and case studies in highly rated double-blind peer-reviewed journals; creation and production of films and plays.

RISEBA promotes the following intellectual contributions: 

• research publications in international research periodicals (journals, monographs, books, book chapters, case studies) 
• participation in international research conferences, symposia, competitions, shows in Latvia and abroad 
• supervising or participating in the implementation of Latvian Council of Science and other state research projects and programmes, incl. artistic and architectural projects 
• patents un licences 
• public exhibitions of creative work 

 

RISEBA promotes the following research and creative activities among its academic staff: 

• • activities as experts of the Latvian Council of Science 
• • supervising and reviewing doctoral theses, including outside RISEBA 
• • supervising or participating in the activities of research, academic and creative committees or collegiate bodies, including outside RISEBA 
• • supervising or participating in the activities of conference organisation committees 
• • supervising or participating in the activities of editorial boards of research publications 
• • supervising or participating in the activities of associations (scientific, academic, professional, creative) 
• • activities in mass media to publicise research results
