RISEBA Youth Academy Begins with a Masterclass on Architecture
On April 6 the first RISEBA Youth Academy “Business Meets Art!” masterclass "Architecture as a Lifestyle" took place.
During the masterclass participants met with the Dean of the RISEBA Architecture and Design Faculty, Jānis Dripe, who gave the young people a broader insight into architecture - what are the specifics of the industry, what are the study opportunities and what the prospective professionals in the field will face during their studies.
Afterwards the young people had the opportunity to gain practical experience and develop their skills, working in an architect's workshop with graduates of the Architecture Programme Helena Bindemane and Pavel Osipov. The task of the creative work was to create a tower of repetitive elements. With that outline the students created spatial models and concepts for their developed ideas, which were also presented.
Similarly, the participants of the masterclass were also able to see the final project exhibition of the works of Bachelor and Master students of the RISEBA Architecture Programme and gain inspiration and creative ideas.
The aim of the Youth Academy is to give students the opportunity to explore different professions, meet with industry professionals, recognize their abilities and develop valuable skills by attending masterclasses.
The next masterclass will take place already on 27 April, when young people will challenge their creativity and find out more about the communications and media industry.
Masterclasses is happening in Latvian on Saturdays at RISEBA Architecture and Media Centre H2O 6 from 10.00 – 17.00.
Registration fee 10 EUR.
